PRIME MINISTER OF HAITI TO ADDRESS OAS PERMANENT COUNCIL FRIDAY

Prime Minister Jacques Édouard Alexis of Haiti will on Friday, March 28, address a protocolary session of the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS), convened in his honor.

Following the special Permanent Council session, the Haitian Prime Minister will hold a press conference, scheduled to be held at 11.45 a.m., in the Miranda Room.

Born September 21, 1947, Alexis has served as Prime Minister since May 2006. He had held the same post during René Préval’s first terms as president. Prior to that, Alexis was Rector of the University of Quisqueya, Minister of the Interior, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, and technology professor at various tertiary education institutions.

An engineer by profession, Alexis has published on a wide variety of subjects including development, learning and higher education.
