Secretary General Insulza Meets with Spain's Secretary of State for International Cooperation

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, today met with the Secretary of State for International Cooperation of the government of Spain, Jesús Gracia Aldaz, at the hemispheric body's 42nd General Assembly in the city of Cochabamba.

During their meeting they discussed current concerns in the Hemisphere, particularly the topics on the General Assembly's agenda, including the event's main theme, "Food Security with Sovereignty." They also spoke about Spain's relations with the nations of the Americas.

Secretary of State Gracia Aldaz was accompanied at the meeting by Spain's Permanent Observer to the OAS, Jorge Hevia, and by his Chief of Staff, Rafael Reig Sánchez Tembleque. Secretary General Insulza was accompanied by the OAS's Secretary of External Relations, Alfonso Quiñónez, and by the Director of its Department of International Affairs, Jorge Sanín.
