The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, participated today in the Forum of Top Regional Economic Authorities that was convened in Montevideo by the Latin American Integration Association (ALADI), The Andean Development Corporation (CAF), the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (CEPAL), and the Iberoamerican General Secretariat (SEGIB).

The meeting, under the title “Models of Development in Latin America, Complementarities and Convergences”, brought together Economic Ministers and other top economic authorities from member nations of the ALADI -Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela- and the main representatives of the convening international organizations.

Carlos Alvarez, Secretary General of the ALADI, the hosting entity, said the forum should serve as “a space to contribute to the search for complementarity between the distinct visions and different social and economic projects that take precedence today in the Latin America reality”.
