A group of Permanent Representatives to the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Organization’s Secretary for External Relations Alfonso Quiñónez today visited the Carlos Rosario School, located in Washington, DC and dedicated to education of foreign adults in the United States with the aim of integrating them to the country’s life and labor market.
During the visit, the Ambassadors learned about the school’s technical project, consisting in English language courses and occupational training for immigrants to be qualified to compete in the labor market. The Carlos Rosario School model might be studied to be implemented in other countries in the Americas.
The school offers a range of classes from the basic English Literacy and life skills necessary for successful introduction to American life, to Career Level English and Professional Certificate Courses in Technology and Culinary Arts. Classes are offered in the morning, afternoon and evening to accommodate differing students' work and family schedules.
