The Permanent Representative of Costa Rica to the Organization of American States (OAS) and Chair of the Group of Friends of the Columbus Memorial Library, Ambassador Enrique Castillo, today presented his book of short stories, “Pesadillas de un hombre urbano” (“Nightmares of an Urban Man”), which was also the subject of a conversation with Member State representatives, Permanent Observers and special guests.

During the event, held in the OAS Columbus Memorial Library, representatives from Venezuela, Colombia and Panama referred to the publication as a “refreshing read,” “polychromatic,” a work that reflects the author’s “excellent handling of the language,” and his “significant originality and creativity.” The collection received Costa Rica’s Aquileo J. Echeverría National Short Story Prize in 2003.

Ambassador Castillo is a lawyer, sociologist and writer, and has published a variety of legal and literary books and more than 18 articles on Argentina, Mexico, France, New York (United Nations), Costa Rica, Panama, Peru and Spain.
