The Permanent Mission of El Salvador to the Organization of American States (OAS) today delivered 75 books by national authors to the hemispheric organization’s Columbus Library.

During the ceremony, which was held in the library’s headquarters in Washington, DC, the Permanent Representative of El Salvador, Ambassador Joaquín Alexander Maza Martelli, said the Mission he heads “is making a reality today what it set out to accomplish during my mandate as Chair of the Council: to share with the inter-American community a sample of the cultural richness of the Salvadoran nation, as an expression of the effort of the Government of the Republic to spread national identity.”

The donation was made in the context of the celebration of that nation’s “First Cry for Independence” and will become part of the library’s texts available for consultation.
