The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, today met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, Patricia Espinosa, to talk about the main issues on the regional agenda.

The situation of Honduras and the differences of opinion that still exist regarding its return to the Organization, the events in Ecuador that amounted to an attempted coup d’état in that country, and the effects of organized crime in the countries of the continent were the main topics of conversation.

Secretary General Insulza visited Minister Espinosa during his stay in the Mexican capital, where he participated in the Latin American Democracy Forum in which a report on the subject prepared by the OAS and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) was presented.
