OAS Secretary General Meets with President of Costa Rica

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, today spoke with the President of Costa Rica, Laura Chinchilla Miranda, during a meeting in San Jose in which they analyzed current events in the American continent.

Specifically, Secretary General Insulza and President Chinchilla talked about the possible return of Honduras to the Organization, international aid to Haiti and the security and drug trafficking challenges faced by the region.

This morning, President Chinchilla and the topmost representative of the hemispheric organization inaugurated a meeting of the Committee of Experts of the Follow-up Mechanism to the Convention of Belem do Para on violence against women.
