Each year the OAS Secretary General publishes a proposed Program-Budget for the coming calendar year. The OAS General Assembly meets in a Special Session to approve the Program-Budget. Find these documents from 1998-2013 here.
Each year in April, the OAS Board of External Auditors publishes a report covering the previous calendar year’s financial results. Reports covering 1996-2016 may be found here.

Chile Contributes 250,000 Dollars in Scholarships for CARICOM Countries through the OAS

The Agency for International Cooperation of Chile will contribute 250,000 dollars in scholarships for students of the countries of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) through the Organization of American States (OAS), according to the agreement signed today at OAS headquarters.
The Executive Director of the Agency for International Cooperation of Chile, Juan Pablo Lira, said education is a key factor in helping Caribbean countries to address the challenges of climate change. “The Government of Chile is very happy to be able to cooperate with the countries of the Caribbean and the OAS, because we know perfectly well how important it is to have scholarships,” added the Chilean diplomat, who recalled the various natural disasters that affected the region in recent months.
For his part, the Secretary General of the OAS, Luis Almagro, welcomed the contribution of the Chilean government and highlighted the role played by the Scholarship Program of the Organization in the education of young people in the region. “Our unity and strength lies in the union of our member countries and in their capacity to work together, as well as in the principles and values that we share. That is why we celebrate the agreement with Chile and the countries of CARICOM, because it represents another step toward regional solidarity and cooperation,” said Almagro.
The contribution will be administered by the Capital Fund for the OAS Scholarships and Training Program to fund studies in the area of disaster prevention. 14 of the 35 member countries of the OAS are also members of CARICOM.
