This week, the governments of Chile and Paraguay adopted their respective National Cyber Security Plans. The two countries join Colombia, Trinidad and Tobago, Panama and Jamaica, as countries that have also received technical support from the Organization of American States (OAS) Cyber Security Program of the Inter-American Committee against Terrorism (CICTE).

The Chilean President, Michelle Bachelet, and the Minister of the Secretariat for Information and Communication Technologies (SENATICS) of Paraguay, David Ocampos, were the authorities that presented the corresponding adopted plans.

The OAS Cyber Security Program has been working with both nations to adopt these commitments. Among other forms of support to the countries that request it, CICTE accompanies the collection of information for the initial diagnosis and the process of consultation with key sectors. In addition, it provides specialized training to cyber security professionals, and contributes to the creation and strengthening of cyber incident response teams.
