The Organization of American States (OAS) and the Chamber of Deputies of Argentina will cooperate to make legislative activity in the country more transparent, open and accessible, according to an agreement signed today between the two institutions.

The agreement seeks to launch a series of activities aimed at innovation, openness and to knowledge sharing, with the aim of improving the management in the lower house of the Argentine Congress.

The OAS Secretary General, Luis Almagro, and the President of the Chamber of Deputies of Argentina, Emilio Monzo, signed the agreement at the headquarters of the hemispheric institution in Washington, DC, in a ceremony attended by several representatives of the member countries of the OAS. The agreement was promoted by the Section for the Support of Representative Institutions of the OAS Secretariat for Strengthening Democracy.
