The Permanent Mission of Venezuela to the Organization of American States (OAS), which currently holds the Chair of the Permanent Council, today opened the exposition “Poets of the Caribbean” at the headquarters of the hemispheric Organization in Washington DC, which compiles photos of 62 poets from the Caribbean, both Spanish and English speaking.

The exposition is co-organized with the Art Museum of the Americas, and is being shown in the Marcus Garvey gallery at OAS headquarters. The show brings together portraits of poets from countries with coastlines in the Caribbean, who were photographed by the poet and photographer Enrique Hernández-D´Jesús.

Upon opening the exposition, the Permanent Representative of Venezuela to the OAS and Chair of the Permanent Council, Bernardo Álvarez, explained that the main message of the exhibition is focused on “supportive and complementary integration” and the unity of the countries of the region.
