OAS Secretary General Visited the Supreme Electoral Court of Bolivia in La Paz

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, met with members of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal of Bolivia, with whom he discussed the electoral processes in the South American country and its collaboration with the OAS, during his visit to Bolivia.

The Secretary General of the OAS made a courtesy visit to the Supreme Electoral Tribunal, where he was received by its President, Wilma Velasco Aguilar, and the other members of the Tribunal, with whom he discussed the OAS Electoral Observation Mission (EOM) that will be sent to observe the regional elections of March 29. The EOM will be chaired by former President of Guatemala Alvaro Colom, who was designated by the Secretary General Insulza.

The authorities of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal thanked Secretary General Insulza for his visit and appreciated the constant support of the OAS to Bolivian institutions and democracy. The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of Bolivia to the OAS, Diego Pary, and the OAS Representative in Bolivia, Enrique Reina.
