OAS Electoral Observation Mission Visits Polling Centers in El Salvador

The Electoral Observation Mission of the Organization of American States (EOM/OAS) to the second round of the presidential election in El Salvador today visited several polling stations in the Central American country.

The Chief of Mission, former Bolivian Foreign Minister Gustavo Fernández Saavedra, along with the Deputy Chief of the EOM, Cristóbal Fernández, and Ronalth Ochaeta, OAS Representative in the country, visited several voting centers as part of the Mission that deployed 75 observers for the election.

This week, the Mission met with electoral authorities, government representatives, presidential candidates, political analysts, members of the international community and other political and social actors. Once concluded, the Mission will present a report to the Permanent Council of the hemispheric institution.
