Each year the OAS Secretary General publishes a proposed Program-Budget for the coming calendar year. The OAS General Assembly meets in a Special Session to approve the Program-Budget. Find these documents from 1998-2013 here.
Each year in April, the OAS Board of External Auditors publishes a report covering the previous calendar year’s financial results. Reports covering 1996-2016 may be found here.

OAS Secretary General Opened “Brazil, my Brazil: Contrasts of Modernity” Exhibition

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, today opened the exhibition “Brazil, my Brazil: Contrasts of Modernity”, by the brazilian painter Marilia Bulhões, during an event held at the institution’s headquarters in Washington, DC.
Secretary General Insulza highlighted that the exhibition offers a “window to the multiple faces of Brazil ”, with inspiration ranging from the favelas to the Amazon rainforest, from Carnival celebrations to the architect Oscar Niemeyer. “The abstraction of Marilia ’s paintings guarantee a discovery of the richness and diversity of her country, offering an intimate perception of its people, the natural beauty of its surroundings and its modernity,” he added.
Roxana Martin, the exhibition’s curator, explained that the 15 abstract paintings reflect the traditional values and the European, African and native-American roots of Natal, the city in north-eastern Brazil where the author is from. “She’s been influenced by her culture, her love for beauty and by technological advances,” Ms. Martin concluded.
