The new Permanent Representative of Honduras to the Organization of American States (OAS), Carlos Quesada, presented his credentials today to the Secretary General of the OAS, Luis Almagro, during a ceremony held at the headquarters of the hemispheric institution.

Secretary General Almagro highlighted the openness to dialogue of the new Honduran diplomatic representative. "Ambassador Quesada, you recently said that you are going to focus your work on dialogue to establish agreements. You could hardly have said anything more accurate. At the OAS we promote dialogue, agreement and understanding to build a better region," said Secretary General Almagro.

For his part, Ambassador Quesada indicated that he would focus his work in the Organization on strengthening peace in the hemisphere and the peaceful resolution of disputes. "Our President, Xiomara Castro, instructed us to seek peaceful coexistence between our peoples and governments, mutual respect between our countries, no to interference and yes to the dignity that sovereignty shelters," added Ambassador Quesada.

In addition to being a diplomat, Ambassador Quesada has had an extensive career as a writer and journalist.
