OAS Secretary General Receives Under Secretary for Legal Affairs and Human Rights of Mexico

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, today received the Under Secretary for Legal Affairs and Human Rights of the Interior Department of Mexico, Lía Limón, at the headquarters of the hemispheric organization in Washington, DC.

The conversation focused on the process currently under way among Member States of the organization to strengthen the Inter-American System of Human Rights. Under Secretary Limón is in Washington this week to take part in the 147th Regular Period of Sessions of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, taking place at OAS headquarters.

Also present at the meeting were the Permanent Representative of Mexico to the OAS, Ambassador Joel Hernández, and the Chief of Staff of the Secretary General, Ambassador Hugo de Zela, among others.
