OAS Secretary General Meets with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Spain

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, traveled to New York to participate in 67th Regular Meeting of the General Assembly of the United Nations. In this context, the OAS leader will hold meetings with leaders and foreign ministers of the countries of the Americas and other continents.

This morning, Insulza met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Spain, José Manuel García Margallo, with whom he discussed the main issues on the regional and global agenda, international cooperation and relations between the OAS and Spain, which is a Permanent Observer to the hemispheric organization.

Secretary General Insulza, in addition to participating in other events related to the UN General Assembly, will be present at a meeting on Citizen Security in Central America, at a meeting with the Group of Friends of Haiti, and will make a presentation on the Inter-American System of Human Rights at the New York City Bar Association.
