During the Fourth World Water Forum, the Government of Guatemala submitted a letter of intent to host the Sixth Inter-American Water Dialogue in 2007. The letter—signed by the Ministers of Agriculture, Environment and Natural Resources, and the Presidential Commissioner of Water Resources—was taken into consideration by the Executive Committee of the Inter-American Water Resources Network (IWRN). The Executive Committee decided to accept the offer made by the government of Guatemala, which includes details on logistic and financial support for the organization of the event.
