Mejorar la calidad de la educación en América Latina y el Caribe supone contar con docentes bien preparados, comprometidos y reconocidos por su labor profesional. Ellos son quienes están, día a día, en contacto directo con los estudiantes en el aula. El estudio tiene un doble propósito: (1) conocer las características y percepciones de los docentes que son relevantes para la política educativa; (2) comprender como estas características y percepciones se relacionan con el nivel de aprendizaje de los estudiantes.
