DATE AND PLACE OF THE SECOND MEETING OF MINISTERS
RESPONSIBLE FOR PUBLIC SECURITY IN THE AMERICAS

(Adopted at the meeting of September 16, 2009)

 

THE PERMANENT COUNCIL OF THE ORGANIZATION OF AMERICAN STATES,

BEARING IN MIND that, in resolution AG/RES. 2444 (XXXIX-O/09), the General Assembly convened the Second Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Public Security in the Americas, to be held in the Dominican Republic in the last quarter of 2009; and

WELCOMING WITH SATISFACTION the proposal by the Government of the Dominican Republic regarding the date and place of the Second Meeting of Ministers,

RESOLVES:

1. To thank the Dominican Republic for its offer to host the Second Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Public Security in the Americas.

2. To establish that the Second Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Public Security in the Americas will be held on November 4 and 5, 2009, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

3. To instruct the General Secretariat to provide the necessary technical and administrative support to enable the Committee on Hemispheric Security to make preparations for this meeting, and to direct that it be held within the resources allocated in the program-budget of the Organization and other resources, for 2009.
