The Columbus Memorial Library's collection of rare books
relating to Latin America and the Caribbean contains approximately 6,000
volumes. The earliest imprint is dated 1535. The collection contains
pre-Colombian codices, travel accounts, dictionaries, and books related to the
arts, geography and history. There are restrictions on the use of these
materials due to their value and physical condition.
