Appendix 2: Well Hole Data for the Kingston Metropolitan Area

A2.1 Well Hole Data

Information for 199 wells drilled in the Kingston Metropolitan area was collected during Phase One of the Hazard Assessment. The Mines and Geology Division provided information on the depth to bedrock in the Port Royal area and the Water Resources Authority provided logs from ard, until it becomes negligible along the coast. The Water Resources Authority determined that there were no appreciable changes in ground-water levels over the past 20 years in terms of quantities extracted. The number of new wells that have gone into production over the last 20 years approximately equals the number of wells that have closed down because of contamination. The net effect is no measurable change in extraction. Changes in the water table were usually due to rainfall.
