Private Sector Forum

The OAS in conjunction with the Government of
Panama and business leaders are conducting a
forum thematically titled, "Energy for the Development
of the Americas: The Role of the Public-Private Alliances."
Those participating in the forum include: the President
of Panama,
Martin Torrijos, Secretary
General of the OAS,
José Miguel Insulza, and the President of the
Inter-American Commission of Ethanol,
Roberto Rodriguez. The recommendations will be
discussed by the Member States of the OAS on Sunday, June 3,
2007.

Hemisphere

The Ministers of Education of the
Americas will be convening in Panama in order to debate the
topic: Education and Human Rights. The meeting is organized
by the Panamanian Ministry of Education (MEDUCA) and The
Inter-American Institute of Human Rights. The Secretary General
of the OAS, José Miguel Insulza will open
the meeting.

Award Ceremony of The
Talent and Innovation Competition of the Americas
Location: Panama City, Panama
Dates: May 31, 2007 – June 1, 2007
The Young Americas Business Trust (YABT),
a non-profit organization associated to the OAS and
committed to the development of youth entrepreneurship, will
hold the finals of the Talent and Innovation Competition of
the Americas (TIC Americas). The event will open May 31st
with the awarding of the finalists (TIC Americas
Finals) and will end June 1st with an
international conference titled "Innovation and
Entrepreneurship: A North-South/ East-West Dialogue" .
Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:
Business Process, Creative Design, Culture and Traditions,
E-business, Spirit of Entrepreneurship, New Markets, and
Social Entrepreneurship, plus one prize for an international
team outside the Americas.
