National Observatories of MexicoSystem of Cultural Information (Mexico) The System of Cultural Information (SCI) of the National Council for Culture and Arts (CONACULTA) in Mexico is an inventory of institutions, infrastructures, cultural goods and services. It integrates information generated by different areas at CONACULTA and by the culture organisms in the states, through a system which operates under a decentralized structure, not only regarding the feeding of information, but also its consultation and its very definition. The SCI is not an observatory as such. However, it has a similar function, that of promoting the information exchange and that of informing about decisions in the area of cultural policies of the country.
