CULTURE

The Virtual Forum of the Inter-American Committee on Culture (CIC) allows the representatives from the Ministries and Highest Authorities of Culture of the Hemisphere to exchange views and to build consensus on the following topics, among others: the agenda of the II Inter-American Ministerial Meeting of Culture that will take place in Mexico on August 23-24, 2004, the Declaration and Plan of Action that will be approved in said meeting, the Work Plan of the CIC, as well as, any other issue that gains relevance at the hemispheric level regarding cultural policies and the definition of lines of action in culture.

LABOUR

As Technical Secretariat of the Inter-American Conference of Ministers of Labour (IACML) and in support of the Troika, the Unit for Social Development and Education of the Organization of American States offers this virtual space for use by Ministerial representatives, civil society organizations, and international entities. This space is intended to facilitate our discussions and to provide a space for information related to the Conference.

EDUCATION

Through the Forum on Education, the pertinent authorities will discuss the themes and contents for the next meeting of authorities of the Inter-American Committee on Education, to be held in April 2004. This forum is also at your disposal for the implementation of the Hemispheric, Summit and New Technologies in Education Projects.

SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

The goal of the on-line discussion Forum on Social Development is to promote dialogue, review the agenda and construct consensus towards the next meeting of the Inter-American Committee on Social Development. The meeting, which responds to a mandate from the High Level Meeting on Poverty, Equity and Social Inclusion, will be held in Santiago de Chile on April 5-6 2004.
