Welcome to the website of the Unit for Social Development and Education (UDSE) of the Organization of American States.
The Unit is comprised of four areas that support its inter-sectoral approach to development, these are: Education, Culture, Labor and Social Development. In each of these areas, the UDSE receives mandates from the Summits of the Americas and implements the lines of actions established by the Heads of State and Government. UDSE also supports OAS Member States through the ministerial processes and the Inter-American Committees in the said areas. Another of its central goals is to promote horizontal cooperation among institutions in charge of designing and executing education, cultural, labor and social polices; and support the dialogue among the main actors of civil society, governmental institutions and international agencies committed to bringing about equitable development throughout the Hemisphere.
For a more detailed look at our activities and initiatives, we invite you to take a look at the UDSE Work Plan up to the next Summit of the Americas, which we drafted jointly with the Member States.
To move forward in the construction of meaningful dialogue on our shared commitments, we are pleased to be reinstate the Discussion Forums in each of the four areas.
