Welcome to the web page that follows up on the commitments reached at the Third Meeting of Ministers of Education in the framework of the Inter-American Council for Integral Development (CIDI). The meeting was held on August 11th, 12th and 13th, 2003 in Mexico City, Mexico.

Delegations from 29 member states participated at the meeting, 19 of them headed by Ministers of Education. High authorities from 13 international organizations commetted to the education in the Americas were also present.

The delegations adopted the "Declaration from Mexico", as wel as the Resolutions that refer to the Amendment of the Rules of Procedure of the Inter-American Committee on Education, the Use of excess resources of the Reserve Subfunf of the Regular Fund Allocated to the sectoral area of Education of CIDI for the Implementation of the Summit of the Americas Mandates and the Functions of the Inter-American Committe on Education.

The Department of Education, Culture, Science and Technology, in its capacity as technical secretariat of the ministerial meetings, offers this space as a tool to follow-up and collectively reflect upon the themes discussed at the ministerial meeting, as well as to move forward in the commitments reached and implement the three hemispheric projects approved by the Ministers of Education. These commitments respond to mandates received from the Heads of State and Government at the Summit of the Americas and follow-up on the commitments reached by the Ministers of Education, at the II Meeting of Ministers of Education.
