This workshop took place within the framework of the XIII Inter-American Conference of Ministers of Labor (IACML)
September 29-30, 2004, Cancun, Mexico.

The purpose of this workshop was to provide a forum for discussion on the fundamentals of employment service systems as a support to economic growth. This included lessons learned in the design and applicability of a number of employment service models within regional labor markets. The workshop also examined cooperative initiatives that have taken place between countries, with the objective of developing, within the IACML framework, proposals for continuing cooperative activities and improving the effective use of employment service systems.
