Third Summit of the Americas

The III Summit of the Americas, which took place in 2001, identified employment as the most direct link between economic activity and the quality of life enjoyed by citizens. Those in attendance agreed that true prosperity can only be achieved if respect for and protection of workers' rights are given equal footing along with the development of employment opportunities.
