In the area of gender policies, the ILO produced a regional report and several national reports on reconciling work and family, along with a research project into domestic work in Latin America. In this same area it also conducted follow-up on the impact of the crisis on women’s employment and gender equality, and tripartite committees on equality of opportunities and nondiscrimination were set up in several countries. In the Andean region and Central America, a programme for promoting trade union freedoms and gender equality was carried out, in collaboration with trade-union confederations.
