Education for Democratic Citizenship in the Caribbean is a Distance Education Course for teachers.
This is a pilot project to take place over three years that seeks to:
- Strengthen the capacities of teachers so that they are able to teach about democratic principles in their classes and communities.
- Inform teachers of the policies, and the regional and national frameworks that are being developed with relation to these educational themes for the development of greater levels of democratic citizenship.
The project is developing an online course to be offered as a pilot to teachers in six countries: Antigua y Barbuda, Barbados, Granada, Jamaica, Santa Lucia y Trinidad and Tobago.
The training of 25-300 participating teachers in the 6 countries mentioned above.
