Special Meeting of the Permanent Council

The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Belize and Guatemala, the Honorable Wilfred Elrington and Her Excellency Sandra Jovel made presentations to the OAS Permanent Council to provide an update on the status of the process for settling the territorial dispute of Belize and Guatemala. Both Foreign Ministers also called for a joint effort to raise funds for the maintenance of the OAS Office in the Adjacency Zone, which has functioned as a civilian peace-keeping mission since 2003.

The session ended with brief remarks by OAS Secretary General where he presented the Peace Fund Report on the Belize and Guatemala Process.
