COSTA RICA Ministry of Environment and Energy - Minae

The Ministry of Environment and Energy of Costa Rica (MINAE) is the national entity responsible for the management, coordination and implementation of all issues regarding natural resources in the country.

MINAE is divided in several units such as: Geology and Mining, Meteorology and the National System of Conservation Areas (SINAC). The latter specializes in the implementation of all policies related to conservation areas, including the management and conservation of hydrographic basins. The SJRB project is coordinated, within the MINAE by SINAC.

MINAE is the institution responsible for the execution of the SJRB project in Costa Rica. The Costa Rican Technical Unit is located in this Ministry.
