Internships and Contract Positions

bulletOAS Student Internship Program

The OAS offers an unpaid Internship Program for a minimum three-month period starting in January, June, and September of each year.  Interns at the Natural Hazards Project are directly involved in project work alongside project coordinators and the principal specialist. Both undergraduate and master's level students are eligible, as are participants in work-study programs. Students specifically interested in economic, engineering, environmental, geographical, meteorological, or political aspects of natural hazard mitigation are particularly encouraged to apply.

Interested persons must apply through the OAS Student Intern Program, but we will also appreciate receiving by fax (202) 458-3560 a copy of your application.  More information is available at: http://www.oas.org/EN/PINFO/HR/job.htm

bulletEmployment Opportunities

Persons who have training and/or experience in natural hazard mitigation, and may be interested in pursuing contract or consulting opportunities in the Unit for Sustainable Development and Environment of the Organization of American States may send résumés to the Natural Hazards Project. They will be kept on file, and the applicants will be notified if a position matching their skills and background becomes available.
