ADMINISTRATIVE MEMORANDUM NO. 87 |
I. BACKGROUND The General Secretariat's Duty Officer Service was established in 1969 in order to handle urgent matters and emergencies occurring outside of normal working hours. The coordination and assignment of the Duty Officer service is performed by the Department of Material Resources. In recent years, the majority of the Duty Officer functions have been performed by security personnel, and/or have been handled by senior officials of the Department of Material Resources, thus making the Duty Officer Service unnecessary. II. RESCISSIONS This Administrative Memorandum abolishes the Duty Officer Service and specifically rescinds and derogates Administrative Memorandum No. 52 (May 7, 1976), and all other rules, regulations, instructions, and practices of the General Secretariat that are inconsistent with this Administrative Memorandum. III. ENTRY INTO FORCE This Administrative Memorandum shall enter into force on the date it is signed.
