El Salvador has joined Brazil and Guatemala in volunteering to be reviewed at the beginning of the next round of review of the Follow-Up Mechanism on Implementation of the Inter-American Convention against Corruption (MESICIC).

The Technical Secretariat of the MESICIC formally received the request from El Salvador to be included in the first group of countries that will be reviewed in 2012, which not only starts the Fourth Round of Review but also on-site visits will be carried out for the first time as part of the review process.

Over the coming days, the Technical Secretariat expects to receive similar notifications from other States that have also expressed their interest in forming part of this first group.
