LIVE TRANSMISSION: MEETING BETWEEN INTERNATIONAL AND PRIVATE SECTOR ORGANIZATIONS WITH OAS ANTICORRUPTION MECHANISM ON THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PRIVATE SECTOR IN PREVENTING AND COMBATING CORRUPTION

Today Thursday, September 12, between 2:30 and 5:30 pm (EST), a live transmission will be held, via Webcast, of the meeting between the members of the Committee of Experts of the MESICIC (Mechanism for Follow-up on the Implementation of the Inter-American Convention against Corruption), and international and private sector organizations, to discuss developments with respect to the topic of the “Responsibility of the Private Sector in Preventing and Combating Corruption.” This meeting is taking place, within the Twenty-second Plenary of the Committee, in accordance with the Methodology adopted for the consideration of this topic of collective interest.

Among the participating organizations are the United Nations Global Pact – Transparency and Anti-Corruption Initiatives, the World Economic Forum – Partnering against Corruption Initiative, and the World Bank Institute – Governability and Anti-Corruption Programs.

The MESICIC is an intergovernmental mechanism, which in its rules allows for broad participation of non-governmental and civil society organizations.
