A-15: CONVENTION ON THE PROTECTION OF TRADE MARKS

ADOPTED AT: BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA

DATE: 08/20/10

CONF/ASSEM/MEETING: FOURTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF AMERICAN STATES

ENTRY INTO FORCE: 07/31/12,  IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARTICLE 18 OF THE CONVENTION

DEPOSITORY: MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF ARGENTINA (ORIGINAL INSTRUMENT AND RATIFICATIONS)

TEXT: OAS, LAW AND TREATY SERIES, NO. 22
UN REGISTRATION:   /  /    No.         Vol.

OBSERVATIONS: This Convention supersedes the Treaty of 1902 (A-7), and the Convention of 1906 (A-12).  It was superseded by the Convention of 1923 (A-20), and later by the Convention of 1929 (B-7).  The latter superseded the Convention of 1923 (A-20).

The offices that were to be established at Havana and Rio de Janeiro to centralize the registration of trade marks were not organized because the Convention was not ratified by a sufficient number of States.
