Inter-American Convention against Corruption

The Intermanerican Convention against Corruption was adopted at the Specialized Conference about the Project of Interamerican Convention against Corruption, convoked by Resolution 1346 (XXV-0/95) of the OAS General Assembly and held on March 29, 1996 in Caracas, Venezuela.

Acording to the provisions of this Convention, it would come into force on the thirteenth day from the date in which the second ratification instrument would have been deposited, condition that was fullfiled on March 6, 1997.

This publication contains the text of this Convention, in the four official languages of the Organization-Spanish, French, English and Portuguese.

Difusion and Implementation of the Inter-American Convention against Corruption

This book contains some thoughts and analysis about the issue of corruption, and also interesting jurisprudence and detailed legislation, among them the Interamerican Convention against Corruption.

This editorial effort was made by two workshops that were promoted by the National Commission for the Improvement of the Administration of Justice (NCIAJ) and the Organization of American States (OAS), held in 1998, to divulge and implement the Interamerican Convention against Corruption.

The publication -in addition of the important difution job- has the peculiaruty that collects opinions from different people, who in their interventions, give the reader the possibility of shaping a wide and guiding vission of this worrysome reality.

The International Fight against Corruption
and their Repercussions in Venezuela

This book will be of interest to people that wish to know, from an analitic point of view and also for practical effects, a wide spectrum of available measures against corruption. One of these, the Interamerican Convention against Corruption, adopted in 1996, helps to join the ideas that some authors came up, among them high officials, members of congress, experts in international public law and influential international advisors. The book brings together the materials presented in a seminar for the divulgation and implementation of the Interamerican Convention against Corruption, sponsored by the Commission.
