Anti-Corruption: Follow-up Mechanism for the Implementation of the Inter-American Convention Against Corruption

Annual Report on Progress in Implementation of the Inter-American Convention against Corruption

At its eighth regular meeting, held at the headquarters of the Organization of American States (OAS) in Washington, D.C., from September 26 to 30, 2005, the Committee of Experts of the Mechanism for Follow-Up on the Implementation of the Inter-American Convention against Corruption (MESICIC) adopted an amendment to its Rules of Procedure and Other Provisions which included the following provisions, among others:

“Article 31. Reports within the framework of the Committee meetings. At each Committee meeting, each State Party shall submit a brief verbal report on the measures that it has adopted since the previous meeting, and on progress made in implementing the Convention.  An electronic copy of these reports, which shall not exceed 5 pages in length, shall be published on the Internet web page of the Mechanism.

Article 32.  Annual Progress Reports.  The Secretariat shall annually compile the results mentioned in the foregoing paragraph, which shall be published as the “Annual Report on Progress in Implementation of the Inter-American Convention against Corruption.”  This compilation shall be published each year on World Anti-Corruption Day, and shall be disseminated via the Internet web page of the Mechanism, and otherwise publicized.”

Accordingly, provided herewith are the yearly progress reports referred to in Article 32 above:
