MODIFICATION OF THE STATUTES OF THE INTER-AMERICAN COUNCIL FOR INTEGRAL DEVELOPMENT

(Adopted at the fourth plenary session held on June 4, 2002) 

            THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY,  

HAVING SEEN Article 95.b of the Charter of the Organization and Articles 3.i, 31.a, 35 of the Statutes of CIDI and resolution CIDI/RES. 106 (VI-O/01); 

CONSIDERING: 

            That the date on which the Inter-American Council for Integral Development (CIDI) annually holds its regular meeting occurs too late to be able to formulate guidelines that the Subcommittee on Administrative and Budgetary Matters, in its capacity as Preparatory Committee for the General Assembly, could take into account to prepare the program-budget for technical cooperation, as well as for other activities of CIDI; 

            That the Permanent Executive Committee of CIDI (CEPCIDI), in its role as the permanent executive body of CIDI and given its ability to act for it, could fulfill the functions assigned to this Council by the above-referenced articles. 

RESOLVES: 

1.                  To modify the text of Article 8 of the Statutes of CIDI so that it reads as follows: 

CEPCIDI has the following functions: 

a)                   When CIDI is not in session: 

(vi)                To carry out the functions assigned to CIDI by Article 95.b of the Charter of the Organization and Articles 3.m and 31.a of its Statutes. 

2.            This change will enter into force upon the approval of this resolution.
