REPORT OF THE BOARD OF EXTERNAL AUDITORS

(Resolution adopted at the eighth plenary session, held on June 7, 1996)

THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY,

HAVING SEEN the Report of the Permanent Council on the Comments and Recommendations of the Board of External Auditors for the Biennium Ended December 31, 1995 (AG/doc.3353/96); and

CONSIDERING:

That the 1995 report of the Board of External Auditors raises a series of complex issues of considerable importance to the Organization; and

That, due to a lack of time and the complexity of the issues raised, the Permanent Council was unable to formulate its observations and recommendations on the 1995 report of the Board of External Auditors,

RESOLVES:

To return the 1995 report of the Board of External Auditors to the Permanent Council so that it may make the corresponding observations and recommendations, and to direct the Permanent Council to transmit the report, together with its observations and recommendations, to the General Assembly at its next regular session.
