Technical Workshops Following the Third Meeting
At its third meeting, held on June 23 and 24, 2003, the working group of experts of the
REMJA responsible for this issue, recommended, following the proposal of the Delegation of
the United States, the holding of technical workshops on the drafting of legislation in the
area of cyber-crime for the OAS Member States. The objective of these technical workshops
is to assist participating States in the preparation or improvement of the legislation intended
to combat the diverse facets of this type of criminal conduct.
During 2004 and 2005, three technical workshops were held under the joint auspices of the REMJA
and the Government of the United States. They focused on the countries in the following regions: Central
America, the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR), and the Andean Group, as follows:

These workshops have trained a total of 181 people coming from 28 OAS Member States.
