OAS Scholarship Program for Haiti
On September 8, 2011, Ambassador Ramdin, Assistant Secretary-General of the OAS, officially launched the OAS Scholarship Program for Haiti at a ceremony carried out at the OAS Office in Haiti in the presence of Representatives from OAS Member and Observer States, Representatives of the Haitian State, Representatives of local universities and members of the Haitian press.
Through this three to five year program, the OAS and its partner institutions are granting scholarships to Haitians living in Haiti to allow them to pursue Master’s degrees online in the field of international development management and health services management, as well as short training programs in areas such as: emergency management, management, criminology, community policing and epidemiology. Scholarships were also granted for a training program specially developed for Haitian teachers.
Programme de bourses de l’OEA pour Haïti
Lors d’une cérémonie tenue au Bureau de l'OEA en Haïti, en présence des représentants des états membres, états observateurs de l’OEA, des représentants du gouvernement haïtien, des représentants des universités locaux et des membres de la presse haïtienne, l'ambassadeur Albert Ramdin, Secrétaire Général Adjoint de l’OEA, a officiellement lancé le programme de bourses de l’OEA pour Haïti le jeudi 8 septembre 2011. A travers ce programme, l'OEA et ses institutions partenaires octroient des bourses à des haïtiens vivant en Haïti pour poursuivre des programmes de maitrise a distance en gestion du développement international et, en administration des services de santé, des programmes a courte durée dans des domaines tels : la gestion des urgences, l'entrepreneuriat, la criminologie, la police communautaire et épidémiologie et d’un programme de formation conçu pour les enseignants haïtiens au cours des trois prochaines années.
Teacher development training program
this certificate program aims at supporting teachers to, among other things, improve the learning of their students, explore intelligence theory application in the classroom, prepare and take security measures to face natural disasters such as earthquakes and hurricanes, and become mentors and leaders in their schools and communities. The program leads to an online certificate and portfolio allowing the graduate to advance their careers and offer their competencies and expertise to projects managed by Teachers without Borders. The inauguration ceremony of the program took place on Monday, August 8, 2011, with the presence of Ms. Catherine Pognat, Officer-in-Charge of the Haiti OAS Office, Mr. Patrick Attié, Assistant Director of the Haiti l’Ecole Supérieure d’Infotronique and Mr. Hugues Carre, Assistant Director of the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation.
Renforcement des cadres pour l’enseignement et l’apprentissage
Ce programme de certificat vise à aider les enseignants à, entre autres, améliorer l’apprentissage de leurs étudiants, explorer les applications de la théorie des intelligences multiple en salle de classe, préparer et prendre des mesures de sécurité pour affronter les désastres naturels tels le séisme, l’ouragan, et à devenir des mentors et leaders dans les écoles et leurs communautés. Ce programme mène à un certificat et un portfolio en ligne, permettant aux gradués de faire avancer leurs carrières et de contribuer leurs compétences et expertises à des projets gérés par les Enseignants sans Frontières. La cérémonie d’inauguration de ce programme a eu lieu le lundi 8 Aout 2011 en présence de Madame Catherine Pognat,Chargee d’Affaires a.i du Bureau de l’OEA en Haïti, M. Patrick Attié, Directeur Adjoint de l’Ecole Supérieure d’Infotronique d’Haïti,et M. Hughes Carre, Directeur Adjoint du Ministère de la Planification et de la Coopération Externe.

The OAS Student Internship Program is designed for undergraduate, graduate and young professional student to allow them to work within their fields of study. The program although unpaid is very competitive. The OAS has 28 national offices and some special programs located in the member states. Internships are available in almost all of the offices and this will allow interns to choose whether they prefer to work in their home country or in another office.
The Organization of American States (OAS) is the main political forum of the hemisphere which promotes and supports Democracy, Human Rights, Multidimensional Security and the Integral Development in the Americas. The OAS seeks to prevent conflicts and to provide political stability, social inclusion and prosperity in the region, through dialogue and collective actions.
We offer you a unique opportunity to gain work experience in different areas and in an international and a multicultural environment. You will have the opportunity to participate in a meaningful learning experience with orientation to the OAS mission, pillars, structure and projects in the hemisphere.
The OAS has 28 national offices and some special programs located in the member states. This allows anyone interested, to participate in the internship program in their country of origin, or other country of interest.
Besides working in the different projects of the Office, interns must participate in a series of activities that are part of a Complementary Online Program

The OAS Academic Scholarship Program (Regular Program), established in 1958, grants scholarships every year for the pursuit of Master’s Degrees, Doctoral Degrees and Research leading to a degree. The OAS Special Caribbean Scholarships Program (SPECAF), established in 1983, grants scholarships for the last two years of undergraduate studies to citizens and residents of the English-speaking Caribbean OAS Member States. In addition to these programs the OAS, through its Partnerships Program for Education and Training (PAEC), is able to offer other attractive scholarship opportunities for academic studies with the support of its partner institutions in the Americas and around the world.
Bourses en développement professionnel aux candidats qualifiés qui sont citoyens haïtiens vivant en Haïti.
Ce programme contient 5 cours, notamment :(i) Education pour le Nouveau Millénaire ; (ii) Gestion Effective et Méthodes ; (iii) Evaluation des Pratiques ; (iv) Culture et Compréhension ; et (v) Création d’un Portfolio Professionnel. Ces cours sont conçus par et pour des professeurs des niveaux primaires et secondaires.
El Programa de Préstamos para estudios en los Estados Unidos del Fondo Rowe de la OEA fue establecido en 1948. Este programa otorga ayuda financiera en forma de préstamos sin interés de hasta $15,000 dólares para estudios de maestría, doctorado, investigación, dos últimos años de pregrado y/o semestre de intercambio.
Las solicitudes pueden ser enviadas en cualquier momento durante los estudios en los Estados Unidos y son aceptadas y evaluadas todo el año.
