November 2, 2011 - What about yourself? How do you build peace in your country?

Armando Paz is launching the call for participation in the second round of the National Forums that will be taking place in El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama during the last week of November and the first week of December. The National Forums serve as a space where young people can meet and exchange experiences about initiatives that they are pursuing or wish to develop in the fields of education, culture, welfare (recreation, leisure areas, sports and health) and labor, to prevent violence in their communities. In addition to this, throughout the duration of the forums, young people will be able to engage in dialogue and reflect together with government representatives, businessmen and youth leaders of NGO’s, upon the formulation of recommendations that contribute to  carrying out successful proposals aimed to prevent violence in their communities.

March 9, 2011 - Armando Paz Project: Launching of the Peace Challenge (Reto Pacifico) Contest

The “Armando Paz” Project is an initiative of the Organization of American States and the Trust for Americas, with financial support by USAID, aimed at preventing violence between youth in Central America through social dialogue, arts and media. “Armando Paz” is pleased to announce the launch of the “Peace Challenge” (Reto Pacífico) contest, awarding winning projects with small funds that will contribute to their implementation. The projects must be submitted by young people that have participated in the on-site forums held in each of the countries where the program is being implemented El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama.
