Workshop: “Contracting Out Government Functions and Services: Lessons from Countries in Fragile Situations” The workshop was organized by the OAS, through its Department for Effective Public Management, and the Partnership for Democratic Governance of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, (OECD/PDG). During the workshop lessons learned from the OECD-PDG “Handbook on Contracting Out Government Functions and Services: Lessons from Countries in Fragile Situations” were presented and an open dialogue took place among participants and expositors.

Also, during the workshop a documentary was shown, illustrating how lessons learned have been incorporated in country-specific cases.

Workshop participants included officials from the OAS, OECD, IADB, WB, IMF, PAHO, as well as major Washington DC – based think tanks and universities.

The workshop took place on June 21 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the OAS General Secretariat Building, 8th Floor, Ruben Dario’s Conference Room - 1889 F street N.W. Washington D.C. USA
