Ministerial and other Official Meetings

Ministerial Meetings

• Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Public Security in the Americas (MISPA)
  It is the main political body to prevent and combat crime and violence in the region. This ministerial meeting aims to strengthen the dialogue between countries, to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, to promote technical assistance and the exchange of better practices.
• Meetings of Ministers of Justice or Other Ministers or Attorneys General of the Americas (REMJA)
  It is the premier policy and technical forum at the hemispheric level on matters related to the strengthening of and access to justice and international legal cooperation.
• Conference of Ministers of Defense of the Americas (CMDA)
  It was created to provide a valuable forum of debate for the countries of the Hemisphere with the purpose of increasing cooperation in the areas of Defense and Security

Specialized Conferences

• Conference of States Party to CIFTA
  The implementation of the Convention against the Illicit manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives and Other Related Materials - CIFTA is accompanied by periodic conferences with the participation of representatives from the State Parties.

• Sessions of the Inter-American Committee against Terrorism (CICTE)
  CICTE held at least one annual session in which representatives of member states considered its work program and elect their own officers.

• Regular and Special Sessions of the Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission
  CICAD holds two regular sessions, one general and one for dealing with technical issues. It also holds special sessions if it so decides or at the request of its member states.
