"Indigenous Perspectives" Photo Exhibit
The Department of International Law of the
Secretariat for Legal Affairs, and the
AMA | Art Museum of the
Americas are pleased to present a
photographic exhibit called "Indigenous
Perspectives." The exhibit depicts various aspects
of the daily life of the indigenous peoples in our
Hemisphere: their culture, work, art, history, and
environment. It offers a glimpse of 21 photographs
selected on the basis of their beauty, creativity,
and originality from 520 images submitted. “Kayapó
Body Painting” -- the photo that won first prize --
captures children expressing themselves through art
in the Kayapó community in the Brazilian Amazon.

This initiative forms part of the Department of
international Law's Program of Action on the
Indigenous Peoples of the Americas. It is possible
