OAS completed its 1st virtual course on Inter-American Law for the Diplomatic Academy of Ecuador

On Monday, February 14, the 1st virtual course on Inter-American Law for the Diplomatic Academy of Ecuador, sponsored by the Diplomatic Academy of that country, was completed and lasted five weeks (January 18 - February 14, 2022).

Part of the Inter-American Program for the Development of International Law adopted by the OAS General Assembly in 1996 and updated in 2011, these activities also fulfill an OAS mandate to promote training and knowledge exchange with the region’s foreign affairs ministries.

The OAS courses examine the structure and evolution of the OAS as well as developments in terms of the promotion of democracy and the codification and progressive development of inter-American law. The latest works of the Inter-American Juridical Committee are also featured.

The closing session of the Course was attended by Ambassador Diego Morejón, Undersecretary for Multilateral Affairs, and Dr. Dante Negro, Director of the Department of International Law of the OAS.
